Ten Minutes of Perspective – The longest lasting annular solar eclipse of this millennium

The annular solar eclipse (also known as a ring-formed eclipse) occurs when only a ring of the sun can still be seen around the edge of the moon. This happens when the moon’s orbit is farther away from the Earth than average, making it appear too small to cover the sun completely.

A website has been launched that will give amateur and professional astronomers a formal mechanism for reporting any unexplained phenomena they observe when studying the night sky.
